I am a proud veteran of the United States Navy, having served as an electronics technician on the Fleet’s premier strike/fighter the F/A 18 hornet from 1984-1993.

After my enlistment period was finished, my family and I relocated to Louisville where I worked as a manager with Krispy Kreme doughnuts for 22 years.

We love calling Louisville Home. Louisville has been a great place for our youngest son, Josh who was born with Down syndrome. The support provided here, especially by Down Syndrome of Louisville and Harbor House of Louisville has enabled our son to live an enjoyable and productive life.

My wife, Harlene, and I love to serve others, and it was in doing a favor to help a widow in my wife’s Sunday school class, that the seeds of Fix It Pete were planted. As I was doing the work for her, she came up to me and asked what she owed me. I told her that it was free. She would not have any part of that and the next thing you know, we were reverse haggling!

Afterward, she asked if we could look at some issues that her daughter was having in her home across the street. We said sure and went over a couple of days later and took care of her. They were so pleased with our work that they recommended that Harlene and I go into business doing this. 

We prayed about it and started the business part-time. As we got started, we were amazed at how many people were just impressed by the fact that they got a call or text back after reaching out to us. They would tell us that we were the only ones that would make call them back and show up when we said we would.

We have since taken the business full time. My wife and I work as a team together. We are a true MOM & POP business.
